Prayer Letter for Germany - February 2015

Dear Intercessors,

After the recent terrorist attacks by radical Islamists in Paris, there have been many demonstrations on the streets of cities in Germany, with much discussion in the press about combatting Islamist terror while maintaining “European values” and “freedom of speech”. The challenge of the integration of people from other countries, cultures and religions is discussed in this month’s prayer letter under “Integration”.

One of the few consistent messages to emerge in many countries including France and Germany is the need to counter the rise of anti-Semitism and protect our Jewish communities. The challenge for Christians is presented in the prayer letter under “100 days of prayer”. As mentioned previously, intercessors in Germany are being called to pray for the relationship between Germany and Israel (and the Jewish people in the nations) during the 100 day time window between the date of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland on January 27, 1945, and the end of World War II in Europe on May 8, 1945, 70 years ago.

Please join with us in prayer, that the Lord will reveal to us his purposes during this critical period at the beginning of 2015, and give to all our political leaders, police and security forces the wisdom to deal with the challenges of “integration” and “terrorist threats” within our countries.

For more insight into Christians in politics in Europe, we recommend you read the “The Political Page - December 2014” by Ortwin Schweitzer (Waechterruf Chairman), which is also attached.

Thank you for praying for Germany.
